Associate Professor Reesa Sorin is Coordinator of Early Childhood Education at James Cook University, in Cairns, Australia. She teaches Early Childhood Education, Arts Education and Professional Studies. She holds a PhD in Early Childhood Education from the University of Wollongong, Australia, where she also completed a Master of Arts (Honours) in Creative Arts and Early Childhood Education. Prior to this she studied in Winnipeg and Toronto, Canada, including a BA in English and Psychology; a BFA in Graphic Design and Photography; a graduate diploma in Early Childhood Education; and a Masters degree in Art Education. Her research interests include: the Arts as teaching, learning and research tools; the impact of animals in the learning environment; environmental sustainability in the early years; conceptualisations of childhood; and emotional literacy.
